St Agatha's School is a co-educational Catholic Primary School, located approximately 6km northeast of Brisbane CBD, offering a nurturing and inclusive environment for students from the Preparatory Year to Year 6. With approximately 360 students, our school prides itself on fostering a community where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially, spiritually and emotionally.
Founded in 1925 by the Presentation Sisters, we embrace their values of service, compassion, and a commitment to education. Guided by the courage and faith of St Agatha, we nurture strength and resilience in our students, empowering them to face challenges with confidence. With the legacy of Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint, we develop in our students a sense of perseverance, kindness, and the belief in making a difference.
Our inclusive class groups embrace diversity and provide rich learning opportunities tailored to every student's unique strengths and needs. Dedicated educators deliver a forward-thinking curriculum supported by exceptional facilities and advanced technology resources, ensuring students have access to innovative and engaging learning experiences.
At St Agatha's, we go beyond academics to cultivate personal growth, wellbeing, and community spirit through student voice, goal setting and knowing our students. We encourage every student to embody our learner dispositions: to be resilient, self-directed, engaged, reflective, and persistent in their learning journey. With specialist lessons in Music, Drama, Dance, Physical Education, and Japanese, as well as enrichment opportunities in Speech and Drama, Musical Theatre, Chess, Coding, Tennis, Entrepreneurship, Visual Arts and Instrumental Music, students explore and develop their talents. Through sports participation, including Zone Carnivals and interschool Gala Days, we encourage teamwork, resilience, and a sense of achievement.
Our welcoming and supportive school community is strengthened by strong partnerships between staff and parents, through the School Board and the Parents and Friends Association. Together, we uphold the values of Growth, Friendship, and Faith, empowering every student feels to find their excellence while fostering meaningful connections within our school and beyond.
